[Letter] 1793 Jul. 30, Rome [to] Sir William / John Flaxman.

Letter to Sir William Hamilton concerns Flaxman's proposed design for a monument for Lord Mansfield (1705-1793) to be placed in Westminster Abbey. Flaxman also copied a letter concerning the monument from the then current Lord Mansfield (1727-1796) of 1793, Jun. 28, London. -- Also the minutes of meetings 1800? Feb. 18 and Mar. possibly in the hand of John Flaxman as secretary; Joseph Hollekens was the chair. The minutes of the meetings are sequentially numbered 11 and 12.

Sir William Hamilton was a British diplomat, ambassador to Naples (1764-1800), and an archaeologist. His wife, Emma, was the mistress of Admiral Horatio Nelson.
